21.04.2020 3395 ViewsTwo officers from the National Inspectorate of Investigations were detained, a short time ago, for the influence peddling. They are suspected of alleging 3000 euro from some persons that appeared in the criminal case regarding illegal circulation of drugs, claiming that they have influence over the persons who monitor the case and that they could determine them to adopt a favorable decision regarding the persons involved.
In order not to hold them liable, police officers claimed initially 3000 euro, but subsequently they agreed upon 1500 euro. Today, they were caught red-handed. Both police officers were detained for 72 hours, they are to be placed in the Detention Center.
In this case, the criminal prosecution on influence peddling was initiated if convicted, they risk up to 6 years of imprisonment. We remind that every person is presumed to be innocent until the final and irrevocable decision of the court is pronounced.
The Office of Anticorruption Prosecution conducts criminal prosecution.
