The NAC team of anti-corruption volunteers has 50 members

The team of young people, who decided to join the NAC to promote integrity, has gotten bigger. 30 young people have received anti-corruption volunteer certificates, the number of people in the team has reached 50.

The event took place on the eve of the International Volunteering Day, marked on December 5.

On this occasion, the NAC has wrapped up of all volunteers’ activities, mentioning that their involvement, together with the NAC and the UNDP, that has provided ongoing support to the team, was valuable. According to the NAC deputy director, Vadim Cojocaru, 2020 was very productive in spite of the fact that some activities were not accomplished due to the pandemic crisis. “Even so, the anti-corruption volunteers have worked almost 2 000 hours and actively participated in 32 anti-corruption activities, organized by the NAC”, underlined the deputy director.

The UNDP project manager, Olga Crivoliubic, who was present remotely, mentioned that the UNDP actively supports the involvement of young people in preventing corruption and promoting integrity values, because only with the effort of every member of the society we can eradicate this negative phenomenon that generates poverty and affects seriously the fulfillment of the fundamental human rights. “Through the involvement, the younger generation can contribute substantially to promote integrity and combat corruption”, pointed out Olga Crivoliubic.

Among the most important events at which the volunteers teamed up with the NAC and UNDP are: the campaign "An anticorruption day in your city", the Pro-Integrity quiz, the campaign "A lesson on integrity from Kapushon" and other awareness raising activities. They are also the actors in the promotion spot of the Anticorruption Ideas Club, of the Anticorruption Education Project in the online environment "Integrity Dictionary", besides, the anticorruption volunteers are among the organizers of information sessions within the Online Summer School 2020 "YOUTH AGAINST CORRUPTION". 

The group of anti-corruption volunteers was established by the National Anticorruption Center in 2016, with the support of UNDP Moldova, and now it has 50 members.
