A man from Ceadîr-Lunga was detained by the officers of the General Territorial Directorate South of the NAC and anti-corruption prosecutors in a case of influence peddling. He allegedly claimed 800 euros from a man to help him receive the driving licence categories B and C.
According to the materials of the case, the suspect would have stated that he had influence on the employees of the Registration of Transport Means and Driver’s Qualification Comrat and would have demanded 800 euros to determine them help the candidate to pass the exams successfully. For his services, he received a part of the money in the amount of 400 euros. Today, the domicile, the office and the car of the suspect have been searched.
The man was detained for 72 hours and placed in the NAC detention center. A criminal investigation was initiated in this case for influence peddling. If found guilty, the man risks a fine from 2000 to 3000 conventional units or up to 6 years of prison.
