Assets, worth about 11 million lei, seized by the Criminal Assets Recovery Agency of the NAC in a money laundering case

Criminal Assets Recovery Agency (CARA) within the NAC has announced that it seized assets worth approximately 11 000 000 lei. It is about the assets of dubious provenience that was seized within a criminal case, initiated for money laundering.
Therefore, within the framework of the parallel financial investigations, the CARA has seized 5 share capitals, 5 construction lands and 10 cars. The total amount of the seized assets is estimated to 10 807 000 lei.
We remind that in 2020, the Criminal Assets Recovery Agency seized assets, illegally obtained, in the amount of about 1 billion lei, and in the first weeks of this year – approximately 15 000 000 lei.
The Criminal Assets Recovery Agency is an autonomous subdivision within the National Anticorruption Center, specialized in carrying out parallel financial investigations, freezing criminal assets, evaluating, managing and estimating the value of seized criminal assets.
