The head of the Chisinau branch of the National Army Expert Training Center, detained for influence peddling. The service provided -driving licence

The director of the Chisinau branch of the State Enterprise the National Army Expert Training Center drew the attention of the officers of the General Territorial North of the NAC and anticorruption prosecutors, after being denounced by a young man. According to the whistleblower, the suspect allegedly promised to help obtain a driving licence, influencing the members of the examination commission.

In fact, the whistleblower had to take the exams for obtaing the driving licence in category B, but the suspect would have promised to influence the officials from the Department of the Registration of the Transport Means and Driver’s Qualifications, Ocnita, of the Public Services Agency and that he could determine them to assess him positively. For his services of the intermediary, he allegedly claimed 450 euros.

A criminal investigation was initiated against the director, but in the afternoon of the February 3, he was detained and placed in the detention center for 72 hours. If found guilty, he faces up to 6 years in prison or a criminal fine.

We remind, that since the beginning of this year, more people, among whom are the PSA employees, intermediaries, driving instructors have drawn the attention of the NAC for organizing some schemes through which they helped receive driving licences, in exchange for money.

The Anticorruption Prosecution Office, the North office, is conducting the criminal investigation.
