An unemployed from Straseni district was detained by the NAC in a case of influence peddling

An enemployed from Zumbrești, Strășeni district was detained by the officers of the General Territorial Directorate North of the NAC and anticorruption prosecutors in a case of influence peddling. He allegedly claimed from another man 800 euros to help him get the driving licence, B category.

According to the materials of the case, the suspect, acting in agreement with other persons, would have claimed that has influence on the employees of the Registration of Transport Means and Driver’s Qualifications Edineț and allegedly demanded and received 800 euros to influence them to help the candidate take the car qualification examinations for B category. The suspect was detained yesterday afternoon at the parking lot of the ”Star Kebab” cafeteria in Chișinău.

The man was detained for 72 hours and placed in the NAC detention center. A criminal investigation for influence peddling was initiated in this case. If found guilty, the man faces a criminal fine from 3000 to 4000 conventional units or prison up to 7 years.

We remind that every person is presumed to be innocent until the final and irrevocable decision of the court is pronounced.
