Three officials of ANSA from Soroca, allegedly took bribes in money and pastries, investigated by NAC in a case of passive corruption
11.09.2024 231 ViewsThree employees of the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) from Soroca are being investigated by the NAC officers and the prosecutors of the Balti Municipal Prosecutor's Office, in a case of passive corruption. They are suspected of collecting illegal payments from an economic agent for not documenting the violations identified in the process of production and marketing of food products, detected as a result of the controls carried out.
According to NAC's investigations, there are several episodes of claiming and accepting money by the employees of ANSA's territorial subdivisions from the same economic agent. Thus, in one episode, during the inspections carried out in a store in the Soroca district, the suspects allegedly demanded and received 4,000 lei for not documenting violations in the production and sale of food products without a sanitary-veterinary authorization. Also, public persons would have claimed undue goods in the form of pastry products in the assortment, outside the controls. In another episode, they would have requested 5,000 lei, but they would have accepted and received 4,000 lei, and they would have received food products for the difference of 1,000 lei.
Following the searches carried out at the offices, residences and cars of the suspects, monetary means and conclusive evidence for the criminal investigation were seized. Currently, the NAC is carrying out actions, under the procedural leadership of the Balti Municipal Prosecutor's Office, in order to establish and document all the people involved in the mentioned illegal actions and bring them to criminal responsibility, and the suspects are being investigated in a state of freedom.
