A man from Edinet, denounced to the NAC after allegedly receiving 2500 euro for three driving licences
04.10.2024 527 ViewsA man from Edinet district is being criminally investigated by the NAC officers in a case of influence peddling, being suspected of demanding illicit remunerations for helping a man obtain three driving licences more easily.
According to the case materials, the suspect allegedly claimed and received 2500 euro, under the pretext that he could determine the officials from the Office of Registration of Transport Means and Driver’s Qualification from Edinet, responsible for examining the candidates with theoretical and practical tests and to favour successful passing of driving examinations, with further receiving of three driving licences.
The case was denounced to the NAC, based on the whistleblowing, the criminal case on influence peddling was opened. Therefore, the anti-corruption officers carried out searches at the domicile of the suspect, who was detained for 72 hours.
The criminal investigation actions are carried out under the processual leadership of the Balti Municipal Prosecutor’s Office.
