    IACA

On 2-3 September 2010, a conference dedicated to the inauguration of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) was held in Vienna. The new institution was created in order to fight against corruption at national level, in every country which was part of the Agreement, as well as to tackle this issue globally. IACA is the result of the collaboration between the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and Austria, supported by the European Fraud Office (OLAF).

The International Anti-Corruption Academy is an international organization that aims at overcoming obstacles in anti-corruption practices and theories through innovative education, training, research and cooperation in this area; the Academy has an important role in the effective implementation of the UN Convention against Corruption.

The Republic of Moldova became a founding member of IACA by signing its establishment Agreement on 21st December 2010 in Vienna and has a number of rights and opportunities to be actively involved in the activities conducted by this organization.

On 9-11 December 2012, Mr. Martin Kreutner, the Executive Secretary of the International Anti-Corruption Academy conducted a working visit to Moldova. This visit served as an opportunity to strengthen the cooperation relations and to promote subjects of major interest for RM, as well as to identify possible sources of financial assistance for attending training courses on relevant subjects. The visit of the official allowed him to participate at the 8th National Anticorruption Conference “Progress and Perspectives in repressing corruption”, held on 10 December 2012, in Chisinau.
