Three driving exams arranged by a former employee of an auto school in Balti in exchange for 550 euros each

An unemployed from Balti was detained by the officers of the General Territorial Directorate North of the NAC and anticorruption prosecutors in a case of influence peddling. He allegedly claimed and received from several people 550 euros each to help them get the B category of driving licence.

According to the materials of the case, the suspect, a former employee of a driving school, would have claimed that he had influence on some employees of the Transport Registration and Drivers’ Qualification Office in Balti and that he could determine them to favor two men and a woman at driving tests. For his services, he would have asked and received 550 euros from each.

The detention took place on April 14, near the Court of Justice in Balti, the suspect is being placed in the detention center for 72 hours. A criminal investigation was initiated in this case for influence peddling. If found guilty, the man risks a fine from 2000 to 3000 conventional units or up to 6 years in prison.

We remind that every person is presumed to be innocent until the final and irrevocable decision of the court is pronounced.
