CARA of NAC: assets worth 5 million lei, seized last week
10.04.2023 637 ViewsAssets worth about 5 million lei were seized by the Criminal Assets Recovery Agency (CARA), within the NAC, based on the prosecutors' delegations, last week. Among them are 2 dwellings, a means of transport, 3 cash accounts, a building plot and claims. Currently, the CARA has under examination 142 delegations on 110 criminal cases, regarding 209 subjects. Last week, 1 million lei was deposited on CARA’s treasury accounts.
Also, the General Directorate on Operative Support carried out 6 judicial expertises, 2 forensic, 3 IT and an expertise in construction, 66 expertises are in the process.
The Legislation and Anticorruption Expertise Directorate received 19 draft normative acts for expertise, sent to the authors 15 expert reports and 9 opinions. Currently, we are working on 39 materials, received from the authorities.
The Analytical Directorate has carried out 5 operational analyses and initiated 3 new ones, other 69 studies are in the process. The representative of the Legal Service of the NAC participated in 10 court hearings, and the Professional Integrity Testing Directorate issued 134 integrity records.
The Anticorruption Education Directorate carried out 17 activities of information and raising awareness. At the same time, the NAC officers together with anti-corruption volunteers carried out training activities with 12th grade pupils from TL "Ion Luca Caragiale" from Orhei, TL "Mihai Eminescu" and TL "Andrei Straistă" from Anenii Noi district, with the generic "Integrity vs Corruption", but also with the teaching staff from TL "Mihail Kogălniceanu", Chisinau municipality, as part of the annual information and awareness campaign "No Corruption at BAC Exams".
The National Anti-Corruption Line received 31 calls, while the NAC Chancellery registered 1498 materials. 15 individuals are placed in penitentiaries, arrested in the NAC cases.
