02.09.2019 11 ViewsThe National Anticorruption Center announces the creation of an intervention cell that will examine the notifications regarding the cases of collecting informal payments in the educational system. Complaints may be submitted to the E-mail address of the CNA secretariat@cna.md, at the headquarters of the Center (Stefan cel Mare and Saint 198 boulevard, the audience room), at the national anti-corruption line, with a free call, 24 hours a day, 0 800 55555, but also on the Facebook page of the Center https://www.facebook.com/CentralNationalAnticoruptie/.
The announcement comes in the context of recent discussions between the director of the NAC, Ruslan Flocea and the Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Liliana Nicolăiescu-Onofrei, in which several topics related to the phenomenon of corruption in the education system and their counteracting methods were addressed.
Both authorities agreed on a common plan of activities regarding the eradication of the practices of collecting informal payments in educational institutions, and as a consequence, the MECR issued an order "On some actions to prevent and combat the phenomenon of informal payments collection in the educational system"In the Order it is mentioned that" the ministry draws the attention of the managerial / didactic staffs of the educational institutions about the necessity of prompt reaction and the undertaking of all the necessary measures in order to prevent and counteract the corruption phenomenon within the educational institutions by examining and elucidating the concrete situations of implication of the subjects. in cases of corruption, as well as by notifying the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, as the case may be, of the National Anticorruption Center of any attempt to deviate from the provisions regarding the prohibition of payment collections to their informal ones. "
For their part, NAC and MECR will focus on promoting integrity policies in the education system by organizing anti-corruption trainings and by informing the teaching staff and parents about the illegality and inadmissibility of initiating and instigating the collection of informal payments.
In this context, NAC comes with recommendations to those who have encountered situations in which they were asked to contribute financially for some school activities to notify the Center or the ministry of the profile at the addresses and contact numbers indicated above.
